As usual, I get to go first. I'm on page 29 of the first book in the series. This week my goal is to finish chapter two and chapter three and start on the synopsis for the rest of the book. In the back of my brain, I'm realizing there are two other books that need a rough outline before any of this can be submitted, so I've started kind of working on those, too. A series with the characters and their lives as intertwined as these is a spooky proposition for someone as disorganized as I tend to be, but I'm up for the challenge!

Alice, I like the sound of your books already! And the forward motion you're making.
This week wasn't as productive as I'd hoped but I really like the scene I just wrote and the way the story is coming together. I've added paranormal elements to this book I didn't have in the first one and like how they are turning out.
4500 words this week not near what I'd hoped, but a lot of those were reworking and adding to the chapters Lori critiqued. I love how she asks questions and makes me dig deeper into the characters and the story.

Wanna borrow my scene sheet outline for your series with intertwined characters' lives? And don't forget a detailed timeline and a spreadsheet of every event in every book. LOL!

Looking back at last week's calendar, I only got one more scene sheet done on book 9 of my series. Definitely not where I wanted to be, in spite of knowing I had several other projects that were going to take up some time. Gonna have to dig in this coming week to finish up the rough outline of that book and work on the timeline.
You might have also noticed I'm doing promotion for the release and book launch party of A VALENTINE'S ANTHOLOGY next Sunday, Feb. 14. I sent info to Bethany for a reminder to go on the loop on Friday and I'll also put details on the loop.

After realizing how little I got done on the final book in my series last week, I worked on it last night. Got 19 scene sheets completed before I called it a night at 3:00 a.m. My mind was still rolling, but my physical body was falling asleep at the computer!

My scene sheets are really pretty simple. Just notes about POV character, setting, opening hook and ending hook, as well as action and dialogue for each scene. Even though I don't fill everything in for every scene, it's a tool that works well to focus my mind on the story and generates other ideas.
I'm in awe that you can keep all the story elements in your head. Things have a tendency to fall out of my head if I don't write them down. As we have heard a million times: do what works best for you.
As many books as you've sold, you're obviously doing lots of things right! Can't wait until your series is available for us to read!
HA! I wish school was over. No, just the crunch of finals. The first set. I have to go until June. UGH.
Happy thought, though. Being done now. *sigh*
