I made some progress this week. As with Kendra, I'm taking the Story Magic class online too. Trying to tweak the plot of my book and do revisions on what I have. Hoping to do more tonight.
Who else is up for the challenge? Basically, work hard the next three weeks and finish the project you're working on by the end of the month. Let's do this!

Glad to hear the on line Story Magic class is beneficial, Lisa.
I am closing in on the end. All the action is done, now it's time for rereading/rewriting, tweaking, tightening, tying up loose ends, then lastly, writing the conclusion in whatever form it needs to take. It's almost over and I am far too close to judge if it works!

I'm joining in--sorry I'm late. I'm going to get this current project off Monday if it kills me. (Of course then I won't have to worry about the other three weeks in the challenge.) Then I'm going to either do a rough draft of my Louisiana set waitress book, or I have two historical projects calling my name loudly. I'll know by Monday. That's my aim.

Cough. Cough. Cough. Not enough progress to even call it progress. I am moderating Shirley Jump's class, and I'm getting some good pointers and ideas out of there. I sold an election Op Ed piece and two new product reviews. Hoping for a more productive week this week.

Nada. Zip. Nothing on revisions. I'm working on the class and doing my golden rose judging. I can't believe it is the 7th already.
I'm not in a position to join in on the challenge, at least not until I get back from the Colorado Gold conference weekend after next. So in the mean time I'm stressing over a presentation I'll be doing at the conference. It's one of those unwieldy topics that's like playing a game of 52 card pick up. Sigh.
Okay, I'm in. I know I didn't start with all ya'll last week, but I'm starting now. Soooo...
For my part in this challenge I'm going to have the next chapter in my WIP done by the end of this challenge.
I'm scared because now I have to switch to the hero's pov and that means getting into his head and out of my dear heroines where I've been for so long. ACK!! No, it's all good, baby. It's all good. LOL

My Golden Rose judging is done! I had two good ones and two not-so-good ones. I'm glad I only requested four entries.
Lisa, did you remember all our challenges or go back to look? Wow, what a memory!
I dug out the anthology story and read about one-third of it. The good news is that I still like it, even after it's been sitting several years. The not-so-good news is that I'm going to have to cut about half of it so it will be short enough for the anthology. Tighten, tighten, tighten!
Also on the good news side, there will be plenty of choice for "walk-on" parts to auction off for the Humane Society benefit. So I'm pleased about that.
Had a guy come and trim the big tree in front of my house today and I got the job of cutting the limbs into pieces small enough to fit into the yard debris can. I've realized how out of shape I've gotten since I've been doing more work at the computer and less outside work. The next month of getting my yard in shape should fix that. In the meantime, a shower and settling in to read the rest of my anthology story sounds like heaven!
Other writing-related "stuff" I got done this past week:
--drew the winner of my Sept. 4 contest (oops! still need to send e-mails out to several loops with this announcement).
--I updated my writing Web site and launched a new series of contests promoting my December release.
--I ordered bookmarks from VistaPrint for a booksigning this Saturday in Lincoln City and they arrived already! I was thrilled!
Coming up this week:
--Finish that anthology read-through and jot notes for needed changes and where it can be cut.
--Make sure I'm ready for the Saturday booksigning in Lincoln City.
--Get started on Golden Rose entries. (Kendra, I'm impressed that you're finished already!)

I'm procrastinating. It's AWFUL!!! I'm going to be majorly stressing in a few days if I don't get my act together.
Okay...in actuality I did make progress, just not in page count. I've been rewriting sections of the wip that have to get fixed before I go on. Two more (minor) scenes to fix (villain scenes) then I cna move forward. Good thing is I have the rest mapped out, so once I just SIT and write, I should be able to cruise.
I've also been busy with promo stuff this week - designed my sample chapter booklets (big thanks to Lisa and Bethany for all their great ideas and help). Designed my bookmarks to have printed. Signed and sent back my contract. Did some agent revisions I need to get done (almost done with those) and have been managing some chapter business as well. I FEEL like I haven't done anything because I'm not racking up the pages, but I am working. Every day. Slow and steady.
Oh! Genene reminded me...I also updated my website. Is THAT a time suck.
*sheesh*...
Yeesh! No where! I didn't get anything done towards my goal this past week. I kept grandchildren from finding rattlesnakes and helped with farming.
