Woohoo!!! Happy dancin' for you, Paty!
I'm still focused on house and yard projects. The downstairs bathroom is almost completely gutted, so as soon as we get permits, we (mostly my son!) can start the expansion and rebuilding process. This was a very small bathroom with barely enough room for the fixtures, so I'm very excited abut this. The utility room is also stripped down--though not completely gutted--and waiting to start the rebuilding process. I can pretty much envision these finished rooms in my mind, so we've made some major progress. The not-so-great part is that all the "stuff" from these rooms as well as the demolition debris is in the back yard. Yep, a large dumpster/drop box will be appearing in the near future.
So writing projects--except for promotion--are mostly on hold for right now.
--I got promo items and a basket off for the Emerald City conference this past week.
--Now I'm working on a goodie basket--actually a treasure chest--for the local humane society auction in mid-October, which will promote the Valentine's Day 2010 anthology I'm part of, along with Chris Young and Chris Kraemer, which will be released from Chris Young's e-publishing company, Rogue Phoenix. If we finalize the cover, I'll be going to this costume fundraiser as that book.
A "duh" that I hadn't thought of until now: if any of you would like to donate a book, promo items or other goodies for this treasure chest, please let me know ASAP. It's going to be a Valentine's Day themed treasure chest, so any romance books or romance-related items would fit in great. It can be a treasure trove of local authors! I'll also put this on the loop. Sorry I didn't think of this sooner.
--The current contest on my Web site **www.genenevalleau.com** is to promote my Dec.12 release. It's after Oct. 1, so I guess I can say that "H" word (holidays) in public. :) The goodie baskets for my Oct. 12 and Nov. 12 drawings will have a Christmas theme related to the book, leading up to a grand prize drawing on Dec. 12 of a Christmas tree and all the decorations. Yeah, I've been collecting prizes for awhile.
Now, back to projects. Hope everyone else is getting lots done!
CONGRATS!!!! WOOOHOOOO!!!! Thanks for posting the check-in :) I got my second story magic response this week and it REALLY helped me with my hero. I'm very excited.
Sounds like you've been really productive, Genene! Great job, keep it up!! :)
That's great news, Paty! It must feel wonderful to complete a book each and every time!
