This has been a poor writing week. ZERO- yes, zero words were written on any WIP. I've had company. My dad, who doesn't realize I WORK from home. And I've been doing a lot of promoting this week as well as editing. But next week I hope to get a lot of writing done.
We're headed to Eugene to day for my nephew's wedding. I'm guest blogger at Petticoats and Pistols if you want to stop by and say "Hi" and I'll be on Regan on the Air tomorrow at 2 PM.
Hope everyone else had a productive writing week!
BTW- the photo is of Peter Point, can you figure out why? I see this out my cabin window at Princeton. LOL

Good morning, Paty! Beautiful view from your cabin window! :)
Hope you and your dad had some good time to visit. When I worked for the state of Oregon, my parents thought I should be able to fix anything they thought was wrong with state government. Flattering in a way, but a bit of a stretch from what I really did. Working at home (and loving what you do!) is a tough concept to convey to a lot of people too.
But you are doing sooooo much promotion and I know you'll make up the word count.
I had some good plotting sessions with my nine-book series this past week and made good progress.
Also had a brainstorm that will move my dog rescue & sanctuary forward another big step. So I'm switching gears and focusing on getting the Quantum Canines Kids Club up and running. It will include futuristic stories for kids starring my own quantum doggies. A new type of writing for me! I want to get the teaser page up for the Kids Club this weekend at "www.quantumcanines.com" if anyone wants to take a look later on. There are just a couple pages of the basic site up right now. Definitely a lot more to come!
Happy writing to all!
I like that name. Quantum Canines. Good sound to it.
Surprisingly I've had a good week. I'm 3/4 done with my revisions and am positive I'll be done by the end of the month. I had a little family meeting with the kids and they agreed to give me two hours of alone time each morning. So far it's working!
Thanks, Kendra! There's a story behind the Quantum Canines name. (For another time!)
Congrats to your kids for giving you space to pursue your dream. Sounds like you made wonderful progress!
Genene, Your nine book series sounds wonderful and frightening at the same time! LOL If I thought that far ahead on my books, I don't know if I could write them. Congrats on the doggie brainstorm.
Kendra, That's great your kids are willing to give you time every day. I know as my kids got older they began to understand it was something I needed to succeed with my goal. When you have your kids behind you, you can accomplish anything! Congrats on the revisions!
What an inspirational landscape for your books, Paty! Looks like a scene from an old western movie.
Genene, I love your Quantum Canine's website. It's adorable! I can't wait to see it develop. What a fabulous idea.
Kendra, it's so nice your kids are giving you time to write. Mine, though all grown up, are still resentful over the time they had to share me with my writing when they were still living at home. Sigh.
I got my revisions done for KC and emailed the manuscript to my agent on Monday. Then the rest of the week was spent working. I have an ad campaign for Seattle in the works, which I'll be working on pretty solidly over the next couple of weeks. And my client is being a real pain in the a$$. But I plan to get some work done on the WIP, which is the first book in my second series. Today I'm reading a nonfic book, a memoir written by a NYC Taxi driver. It's background info for my MC. Cool stuff. I might actually get some words written over the next few days. We'll see.
