Weekly Progress Check-In

Welcome! This is the Mid-Willamette Valley Romance Writers weekly progress check-in. We want to hear from you.

It's a brand new year! Time to think about setting new writing goals.

Whatever your goals for 2013, plan to check in on this blog every Monday and let us know how you did. We'd love to cheer you on!

Did you meet your writing goals last week? What do you plan to accomplish this week?

I made surprisingly good progress last week. I say "surprisingly" because it still felt like a holiday week, and those are notoriously interrupt-driven. Looking forward to meeting my personal deadline of getting the book edited by the end of the month.

Hooray for progress, Debbie!

Today I'm starting the oral read-through of book #8 of my Halo Legacy Series. That means it's almost ready to send to my publisher. Chris will be grateful for that progress. :)

That also means I'll switch back to working on my novella for a May Day anthology. Started the morning with ideas for the story cavorting in my head--so hooray! And thanks to all who sent suggestions for steampunk reads and resources. I'm eager to start using those!

I'm going to try and check in every week. I'm researching native american demons for the second book of The McKenna Clan series. Also doing character charts and first scene plotting.

Yay! You ladies are all moving along! I feel like I've been back peddling the last month. Too many people and happenings in my house to get as much done as I'd like. Hoping in a week or two to be back to normal. (After helping my daughter paint her house)
My goal is to get the first twenty pages of the new mystery written and polished to enter in a contest and to get Secrets of an Aztec Temple back from final edits, formatted, proofread, and published by the end of the month.

Chris, if you find info on Native American Demons I'd like the sources. They might play into some of my upcoming stories. Thanks!

Good job to those of you who got some writing/editing done.

After two+ weeks of having kids and hubby home on vacation, I was so glad to get back into the swing of writing. Monday was a knock-out writing day. The rest of the week is not looking so promising for writing time, but I'll take what I can get.

My personal deadline to get Daisies are True finished is Feb. 28, since I'll be promoting it on a London-based blog on March 27.
