Weekly Progress Check-In

Welcome!  This is the Mid-Willamette Valley RWA chapter's weekly progress check-in.

Did you meet your writing goals last week?  What do you plan to accomplish this week?

(The best prize is achieving your writing goals, but as an extra incentive, we will award gift cards from Powell's bookstore to the chapter member and the non-member who check in for the most weeks in 2012.)

Yes, I met me goals last week. I also met Minnette Meador! That was a fun evening, and really got my brain spinning about the future of publishing.

Yay Meggan! It was fun meeting Minnette, wasn't it?

I'm hip deep in revising The Lazarus Gambit, polishing it up and getting it ready for submissions. So if I'm slow to respond -- that's why! :-)

Great pic, Deb! And congrats to both of you (Meggan and Deb) on your progress. Wish I could have seen Minnette at the meeting. I am so looking forward to seeing you guys at the May meeting. :-)

I have been sidetracked from my second book by continuing success with my first (oh, darn ;-). I finished formatting a printed version of The Honeymoon Cottage, so I can add a print edition ASAP. I did a bit of work on Shady's Lady (new/old title for In Deep Water), and worked out a sticking point in the plot that had always bothered me. Now I have to start working through the revision methodically to get it done as quickly as I can. I am anxious to get more work out there soon!

So my goals for this week are to revise 1000 words per day on Shady's Lady, and get the proof of my paperback edition of The Honeymoon Cottage and proofread that one last time. Also need to work on scheduling workshops for the chapter, and writing upcoming blog posts. Whew.

Good luck meeting your goals this week, everyone. :-)

Hey, Deb! Great new picture! Your excitement makes me "almost" want to go to Nationals this year. :) What a great experience for you! Hope your upcoming blog posts talk about some of your experiences. Being a Golden Heart finalist is so cool!

Hooray, Meggan, for meeting your goals! And, yes, Minnette is so much fun and has a lot of information to share. So thanks again, Minnette!

I never thought being productive would sound boring, but I've made good forward progress on edits to book #5, finished a couple more book covers, and did more promotion. With more to come next week. LOL!

I've also dug in my yard a bit on the nice days and am now pushing myself to finish my taxes. My usual vow to keep the paperwork filed didn't even last two weeks last year. But at least it was all corralled in my office. :)

Hope everyone has a productive week!

Hi, Barb! Our comments must have passed in cyberspace. :)

Congrats on the continuing success of THE HONEYMOON COTTAGE! So good to hear that! Hope the print version does well also, and you finish edits to book #2 quickly. Good stuff!

Thanks Genene! Yeah, I plan to blog about being a GH finalist in my next blog. Meant to do it last week, but I was too caught up in getting a submission ready for an agent (yikes!). :-)

Next week, for sure!

Barb - sounds like your self-pub experiment is really reaping rewards! Yay! Can't wait to see you next month!

(what is going on with me and the "!"s? I'll get better, I swear. :)
