Weekly Progress Check-In

This is the Mid-Willamette Valley RWA's weekly check-in.  Every Monday we encourage members and visitors to let us know how their writing is going.

Today is Monday, October 31, 2011.  (Happy Halloween!)

This is the last day before National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) begins.  Do you have plans to complete any projects in November?  What do you hope to accomplish in the next month?

Good luck reaching your personal goals for November!

Nothing, nada, zilch this week. I'm way too wrapped up in packing/moving to get anything done. I'm looking forward to spending a night in a hotel where I can work on the laptop!

Hope everyone else had a better week.

Ah, Barb, completely understandable that packing and moving has absorbed all your time.

Much of my time last week was filled with promotion prep for the re-issue of my first three novels on Nov. 1, Nov. 15, and Dec. 1. I'm as excited as when they were first released!

Spent a lot of time on my new Web site. Most of it's done and you can get a sneak peak at ****. There are still a few links to add, and if you find any glitches, please let me know!

Today I'm working on a special blog and contest for that Rock and Romance series, then will kick off lots of online promotion.

In addition, I also spent some time nearly every day editing the third book of my LEGACY series and woke up with one of those "aha" realizations about a scene that wasn't what I wanted it to be. Made lots of notes to make that scene much juicier! Love it when the Muse works while I sleep. :)

Coming up this week are more edits for my LEGACY series and promo for the Rock and Romance re-issues!

Hope everyone else has a productive week!

This is the start of what I hope will be a killer word month for me. I HAVE to finish Logger in Petticoats. Or else self-destruct from not meeting my self imposed deadline. I had five fans come up to me at ECWC and ask when Hank's book would be out. That is my motivation!!

So you may not see me much this next month on anything!

Last week I managed 3000 words before getting caught up in the packing and prep for ECWC and then attending. Had some good workshops, hung out with Eli, Alice, and Bethany and the ladies of Rose City.

Oh and Bethany placed second in the ECO contest!!! And every agent and editor she pitched requested one of her books she has finished. So YAY, Annabeth!!

Ok, off to write!

Paty, in spite of your busy schedule, you're still moving forward. That's great! Looking forward to hearing your progress on LOGGER. Sounds like ECWC was another good conference.

And, congrats, Bethany/Annabeth on the ECO contest and on getting requests! Very cool!

Oops forgot to check in! I got about 2500 words last week. And that nifty second place :) And . . . six agent/editor requests. Three YA and Three contemporary. I've got one of the requests out the door, planning to get number two today, and number three by the weekend or so, with the others being fulls that may take another week. Since I'm getting my YA out again, I'm also entering it in GH. Got to get GH in the mail ASAP too. Busy. Not so much with new words, but got to get this all out!
