To Do Tuesday: Fill In

Happy Tuesday, all! No, you're right, I'm not Bethany. And yes, you guessed it, our resident Tuesday "to-doer" is in the hospital as I type, hopefully already holding her new bundle of joy. Bethany emailed me early yesterday afternoon to tell me she was in active labor and that if she didn't have the baby by 7 PM, she was going to the hospital where they were going to induce. When I have more news, I'll be sure to update you all.

The question of the day is a two-fer:

1) Share your favorite "baby" romances. Feel free to debate the virtues of secret baby stories!

2) Take a gander. Boy, girl and time of birth? Remember, odds are good she didn't deliver before 7 PM last night, but anytime after is fair game. I'm thinking a prize is in order for the closest guess. I'll come up with something - maybe a bundle of baby romances!

I'll start the ball rolling.

1) I love a good secret baby story. They are the ultimate compilation of secrets and betrayal - so long as the motivation for keeping such a huge secret is justified. The first one I ever read was an old book - This Time Love - by Elizabeth Lowell. Loved them ever since. And yes, I have written a secret baby story. (Hopefully with that good justification I talked about earlier. LOL)

2) As for our secret baby: I'm going to guess girl, born at 6:32 AM 9/25/07. (And no, I honestly swear I don't know the answer. I'm waiting impatiently right along with you.)

Your turn.

The only secret baby story I've ever read is yours Eli. ROFL Figures. And of course you already know I LOVE that story. Especially Thad. He's soooo yummy. *Big Sigh*

YIPPPEEEE!!! It's about dang time that girl got serious about having that baby!

As far as guessing what and when, sheesh, I have no clue. But if the baby's born today it's being born on the best day in the world, according to my dh and sons, because today is HALO 3 DAY!!!

They even wrote "Happy Halo 3 Day Master Chief" on our white board for today's message. Yeah, their obsessed dorks, but I'm more interested in Wavy's baby!

Can't wait for the rest of the news!!

I don't think I've ever read a secret baby story except for one I critiqued for someone. But never one that is published. I know I read Alice's that had a baby but it was a secret to the mom too because she had amnesia and didn't remember she had a baby. LOL

As for a guess... 4:12am 9/25/07

I'm going to guess girl, born at 9:15 a.m.

Haven't ever read a secret baby story. I read a fabulous shotgun wedding story a few years ago by Karen Templeton (love her!), but there were no secrets involved. Everybody knew.

In my book, Desert Guardian, there's a secret baby but she's 5 by the time she's introduced so technically she's not a baby anymore.

I have a special present for Wavy. I bought CDs of some of the workshops at the Colorado Gold and there's a fabulous one on YA presented by Lynda Sandoval and her editor, Sangheeta Meta (Simon Pulse, publisher). It was so good! So i'm making a copy for her. I'll have it for her at our conference.

What? Still no final word from Bethany? I hope all is going well. I've never read a secret baby romance, but would be open to reading one. I'm guessing this is a boy (a big Momma's boy!) and was born at 11 am with Mom too exhausted to get the news to us yet. Bless you, Bethany!

Okay, Karen wins with her guess- girl at 9:15. It was actually girl at 2:40 PM, but that's the closest, I think (and right sex). Karen, I'm going to find a good secret baby story for you. ;)
