Challenge Check-In

Okay, ladies. Today was day one. How did you do? You each know what your target word count/day is. Did you reach it? Give us a report.

And for those of you not "officially" committed to the challenge, weigh in with us. How did you do on the words today?

I have met my goal of 1,000 words a day.

Yea for me. The proposals are gone along with a suggestion for a third book.

There you go

Alice, you are so awesome. I really mean it. Just incredible. In so many ways, too. :) I just love you!

I'm not officially doing the challenge, but I met my writing goal for today, completing a book review, a nonfiction piece, and a journal entry. I guess you could say that my 100 day goal is to write something every day, even if just a journal entry or paragraph or a non-fiction essay. Let's say 100 words. I think that's doable for right now.

Yay Alice and Eli for kicking butt! I hope you repeat the challenge in the Spring, because I'd really love to commit to a 1000 words a day again. I love the feeling of satisfaction that that pace gives me.

1419 new words today. I'm beat, otherwise I'd stay up and keep going. I'm at the climax. I soooo want to be done.

Way to go Alice and Wavy!!! And Wavy, I like that you're committed to writing something - anything. I'm sure it helps pass the time while you wait. Don't put pressure on yourself after baby gets here though. Your body needs time to recovery.

And yes, though I hope to keep up this pace after the challenge is over (writing is a habit, you know), I'll definitely plan something for the spring when you can participate to the fullest of your abilities (with baby, lying on the ground on a blanket at your feet, cooing away while you type the next NYT Bestseller. He/She will be able to look back and say, "Remember when I was an infant and you neglected me for that book!" ROFL. Okay, wait. That's my kids...)

Lisa and Paty, still waiting for your check-ins.

How about the rest of you? Anyone get any writing done today?

Sorry I'm late- and to let you know I won't have access to the internet the rest of today and tomorrow. We're headed to Burns/Princeton. I'm judging at the Harney County Fair, but I'm taking my laptop and plan to use the two hours there and back to write.

My word count is 2254 words for yesterday and actually more if you want to count the beginning 974 words I wrote and deleted when I realized I couldn't start the book that way!

So I'll let you know on Friday how many words I wrote today and Thursday. Happy writing all!

Woohoo, Paty! You're cookin', girl.

Piper -- Ah, what a nice thing to say!

Wavy -- considering your circumstances, I think writing your name every day is an accomplishment!
