Challenge Check-In #3

Hi-ho, ladies. It's day three. How are we doing? The excitement has worn off, it's time to dig deep and figure out what you're made of.

Lisa? We haven't heard from you and I know you're writing. Speak up and share.

Paty? Are you back now? How did the writing go on the trip?

Alice? Did you make up your words yesterday? Are you editing like a fool? Writing that third chapter in the second proposal? Tell, tell. Inquiring minds want to know.

The rest of you...who wrote today? Share your word counts with us regardless of whether or not you're taking the challenge and give us an update.

Very productive day for me. I woke up realizing the scene I'd wrote last night had to go. Didn't work. After struggling with it all morning, I realized the set-up I had for the climax wasn't going to work and had to be changed. I went back and wrote a whole new scene to be added in the last chapter and voila. The ending became crystal clear. Then tonight after the kidlets went to bed, I wrote the climax. It's rough, it needs polishing. But I think *cross fingers* I just may have gotten it. That leaves....the resolution! OMG. I can't believe I'm almost done with the book from Hades (as Wavy so eloquently put it...which, ironically, figures into my next book...)

Word count for today (new): 3542 words in 18 pgs.

Yes, I'm back and I typed out 2626 words on my trip. So if you half that it was 1313 per day! Now, today, Friday, I'm not sure if I'll get anything typed. I have unwanted company arriving at 11 am and not leaving until after I hit the road tomorrow morning for Portland. So today and tomorrow, you won't see a word count from me, but it isn't from lack of enthusiasm!

Awesome word count, Eli! Way to go!

I'm going to jump over and put up my Friday Five and then chat online for a chat TWRP has set up and then I have to get ready for my company.

I'll try to make up words next week for the next couple of days.

Thanks for keeping after us!!

I did a lot of journaling yesterday to meet my goal. I also wrote a short children's story about birth/labor. Neither of which is related to my WIP, but I'm keeping the creative juices going.

Eli--That is FABULOUS progress!!!!!!

So happy for you!!!!!!!

Way to go Eli. Hope today saw you racing toward your ending.

I'm buried in line edits. Good news is I like the book. Bad news is it reminds me of the proper pacing and makes me think I need to crank that up in the proposals I just sent. I hate thinking of things when it's too late. Thought of sending an email along the lines of , "Er, I think I can do better...." and wisely decided to let it go and if they sell, fix it then. If they don't, I'll have an excuse (beyond the possibility my ideas suck.) It's a win/win!

Way to go, Paty. I'm impressed you got that much done on your trip.

Have fun at the workshop on Sat. Wish I was going!

Thanks, Wavy. ;) Feels good to be productive.

I think small little bits of writing are great considering you're waiting for b-day. Crossing fingers this weekend is it for you. ;)

Alice, I have no doubt they will love your proposals, but it's cool you already know how to beef them up when you get them back.

As for me, no writing yet today because I had a gazillion things going on, but rest assured once the Gremlins are in bed I'll be working steadily on that resolution.
